I impersonated someone?
Don't judge me I'm 17 and I been acting like a kid from my school on Facebook and twitter and stuff, not for any harm just to talk to people and for fun, no money nothing. I was just bored and I'm not good looking, and the kid I used was very good looking, I know this happens all the time, but the kid actually caught me and said he was pressing charges, What will happen to me?? Will I go to jail?? What's the chances of him really doing it?? And what should I do. PLEASE HELP IM SCARED

"The mere act of impersonating another person is unlikely to be unlawful except in situations where the law specifically provides. For example it is a criminal offence to impersonate a police officer.

However, where the impersonation is accompanied by certain other acts or certain other factors are present the impersonator may commit a criminal offence or a civil wrong depending upon the circumstances of the case."

Googled it. Basically unless you have been bullying someone or using the information for wrong you'll be fine.
Doubt he'll report you- they couldnt prove it anyway.
Just kids messing about and the law wouldn't bother.
Dont worry & have more confidence in yourself Smile
Good luck x
