A good way to gain YouTube subscribers?

I have a YouTube channel, TehGingeTinge, and I hav 836 subscribers at the moment. I got a majority of those from twitter from following and unfollowing. A majority of my subs are unloyal, but lots are loyal and watch my stuff. I was just wondering if I should stop following and unfollowing on twitter, or to keep doing it? I don't know if it's a good, proper way to gain subscribers.

post a subscribe annotation with a link on all your videos. I have 700 subscribers almost and most of them subbed using that
