How can I generate more business for my Car repair shop?

I run a car repair place. We do bodywork and mechanical work... Business is pretty slow and so is cash so I cant possibly go all out on advertising.

Im looking for cost effective ways to generate business. I have a pal making a website for me but to even market the website costs a fare deal with all the competition around (London,UK)

Are there any genius ideas anyone can share? Any help would be greatly appreciated

You could focus your advertising so you aren't having to go 'all out' and maybe just advertise in trade magazines. Also, online networking rarely costs anything via websites like facebook. You could set up a group or profile and see if things take off that way. Plus you'd be making it easier for existing customers to refer you to other friends.
