Thinking of starting my own business on Ebay?
Hi, i am 15 and i really don't want to be relying on my family to buy the things I want, I think i earn some independence when I purchase things myself. I recently bought my own gaming set up and my mobile phone. I got that money from selling some of my old stuff on facebook. However, I really want to buy myself a decent gaming computer which will cost around £400. So i was wondering, do you guys have any ideas of what i could perhaps make myself then sell on ebay?
I realise that iPhone covers are quite successful on Ebay, but how would i get my hands on stock?

Also, I Know that you must be aged 18+ and have some type of card. I get my debit card next year when i go to college. So, in the meantime, could I just put in a fake DoB and use my brothers debit card?

Ideas of products and a company Name a greatly appreciated! Smile

You'll have a hard time trying to compete with sellers in China, especially for tech stuff, then there's your age, if you're buying in bulk and you're ripped off you could find getting your money back will involve your true age getting out and your brother in trouble.

I'd ask someone with an ebay account to allow you to practise on their account, ebay does mock auctions, you should also read the tips and advise section on ebay plus you tube.

No, you cannot put in fake info and someones debit card. You do realize that ebay verifies the debit card information? They'd red flag your account for fraud and freeze it.

Just get a job.

Now is a very good time to start this kind of thing. Get into the habit of it. How I started was one day I found myself in a trade store (looking for 12 volt switches iirc) where I saw I could buy something (I can't say what, might poison the market... seriously) for less money than I'd recently paid for the same thing on ebay.

I realised if I'd put my own stingy paw into my pocket and part with real money for it, LOTS of other ppl must do too. So I bought ten of them and sold them with about 4 quid profit each. Then made a long list of other stuff the store had that I'd bought some time recently, weighed them all so I knew what the postage costs were gonna be and checked out what each were selling for on ebay. Less than one in ten looked good so those were the ones I started selling.

So find out where traders buy their stuff from, go there and make a list. See what things sell for on ebay then come back with weighing scales. You need genuine trade stores although I made profit on non-slip matting from poundland for a while. Trade magazines/newspapers would be a good place to look.

Forget containers from China - That's for much much later when you know what ur doing.

Good Luck!

(PS - No u can't do the fake DoB thing - Don't EVER cheat the system ur relying on to help you sell stuff - could have long lasting consequences u just can't imagine right now. Do anything you can except break rules)

LMAO - someone gave me thumbs down... WTH is wrong with what I said?

Stupid child - lying never works. If you succeed (highly unlikely) in getting an account, you will be in extreme difficulty in later life when your credit history shows the wrong DOB. Lenders are not keen to deal with liars....
