Will Tim Scott be able to market American conservatism in ways that Jim DeMint couldn't?
The recent decision of Senator Jim DeMint to take on a new job in 2013 as the president of the Heritage Foundation has been followed by South Carolina governor Nikki Haley's decision to appoint Tim Scott (who is conservative, Republican and black) as DeMint's successor in the Senate. In a piece yesterday in the Big Government section of http://www.breitbart.com, Tony Lee provided some insight on this:

Jim DeMint is now working for a terrorist organization, the Heritage Foundation.

Nikki Haley is a whore who loves money and multiple men at the same time while high on coke.

The Legislature certainly needs some new blood, too many dinosaurs in there now.
I am all in favor of conservatives holding office (and don't care about race). But it seems to me that Americans should ignore Washington DC because there is no help to be found there for our troubles. The Federal government has caused most of our problems. It has become Leviathan. We can't fix it, we can't change it and it will bring us all to ruin. There are no answers there. I think we should build a border fence around it to protect America from its insatiable lust for ever more power and money.

What new territories? Has the GOP annexed some previously unaffiliated islands that are populated with blithering idiots which they now propose to sponsor for statehood? Because if that isn't the case, then Senator Tim Scott is going to find it impossible to peddle the bullsh*t that constitute today's Tea Party conservatism to anyone with an IQ greater than 75.

It's simply one anti-intellectual Koch Brother sycophant replacing another. Big fucking deal.

If by new territory they mean to the black community, I have my doubts. Black democrats and even white ones are very disrespectful to black conservatives. Mia Love was treated horribly. Blacks think the Democrats are their saviors and protectors even though I know many of them do not agree with their social issues like gays and abortion. Maybe he can convince some of them to be conservative and more and more minorities are joining the conservatives but I'm not sure what would have to happen to really make them believe that what is good for the whole nation actually does include minorities and poor people. Biden: "They'll put y'all back in chains" for some reason seems to resonate with them even though it was democrats who were the guilty ones.
