yahoo chat being killed?

now that yahoo is killing messenger chat, will there be a replacement? yahoo has many 'lifers' that have put up w/bots, spammers and overbearing advertisements in order to be with their chat acquaintences. for some, it is the only social intercourse available due to medical reasons. facebook and twitter do not serve the same purpose, and are very slow and kludgey.
also, is yahoo killing 'groups'?
be nice is yahoo could answer and not some bot or troll

I have not heard about any intention to also close down groups!

I for one have the Firefox installed and don't see a single ad, no pop-up, no fly-in and no commercial videos on the Yahoo pages and on most other web sites...:-)

One more thing - if you want to keep in touch with your friends by using a chat room, take a look at http://www.chatzy.com/ - they offer a free service, only a single commercial ad in chat rooms which changes every 2 minutes - maybe this could be an alternative for you and your friends...:-)
