What's included in my phone contract?
I've just signed up to a 24 month plan with Vodafone with a BlackBerry Curve 8520 included. I'm new to BlackBerrys and I don't quite get what's part of my contract and what counts as extra. The plan I chose says "250 MB mobile internet data and includes 500MB BT Openzone Wi-Fi access plus BlackBerry internet service"- but what does this actually mean? Do I get charged for using Facebook and Twitter apps? And does it matter that I'm always connected to the internet (I haven't figured out how to disconnect, if even possible)?

It basically means that when there is no Wi-Fi around (Wireless internet) then you can connect to your mobile internet to use sites like Facebook and Twitter without getting charged. However, 250MB is not a lot of internet data and if you left it on all the time you are likely to get charged for it towards the end of the month. Just try and use wireless whenever you can and switch off your mobile internet wherever possible.

Blackberry internet service is separate from normal web browsing and includes Blackberry messenger, email and access to APP World. This service is built into your price plan and you will not have to pay extra. If you access Facebook and Twitter via your apps you will not be charged extra.
Blackberry services do not include access to internet browsing. If you access the web the data used will be debited from your data allowance. If you exceed this you will be charged.
You should use wifi when possible or the BT hotspots (if you can find any!) to keep you data allowance for when you are out and about. The fact you are always connected to the internet is not sinister. It just means you have an "always on" connection either through GPRS or 3G. This is similar to the way your broadband connection at home is always on. You don't have to dial up a number to connect to the internet like the previous dial-up internet.
