If an imei is blocked what features does a phone have?
Here's the crack, I've been arguing with my girlfriend (who I've been with for a long time) and I got her mobile out for her on contract, I got one for myself at the same time. What I want to know is IF we break up (and she's already said she'll refuse to give me the phone back to sell) could I ring my phone company as the phone is insured and tell them I've lost a phone on my account now I know they'd block the imei and send a replacement phone to my house BUT would she be able to still use features on it such as twitter, Facebook and Instagram? Or would the whole phone be blocked?

Any help would be nice

Thanks

If the phone can connect to WiFi networks, yes.

No that is FRAUD and the costs legal / financial to you will far exceed any argument she has rained down on your head****

What you suggest is reckless bordering on stupidity

So as NOT provided:
If.. if she is paying the Instalments, ALL of them even though you took out the contract you will be on very shaky ground to try anything that affects her service esp asking for the phone!

If you are "paying"
I assume that had this worked you WOULD have no qualms about paying if indeed you do.
As she CANNOT legally sell the phone and you are worried about selling the phone ( YOU STILL WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE CONTRACT) the only viable solution is to tell her to pay the instalments from NOW on,

She can either pay you to maintain service voice/ text/ www or lose them, for at present you are weakening your own case
she then has to decide to return the phone or get a phone for herself she cannot claim it was a gift that runs for 2 years

If you look at the question it does border on a form "of the oldest Profession" and you appear to be looking at ways in keeping her "sweet" which are illegal.!

Insurance still has up to £100.00 excess and you will end up with a criminal record, fined, there will be Court Cost in addition to it affecting ALL future insurance applications.

If she is paying for the phone already you have ZERO rights to ask for it back and as long as she does pay for it your actionsare ill judged

If she is NOT paying one IOTA then you do need to STOP IMO, as there are no free lunches,
Nobody but nobody should cares whether or NOT she can access Twitter, Facebook and Instagram,
if she want to do then she pays

To repeat if you think its bad now, there are some people who you just can't argue with called JUDGES.
