Following Problem On Twitter?

I'm following just over 2,000 people on twitter but recently once I follow say 2,002 people it won't let me follow anybody else until I unfollow someone. It simply comes up with an error saying 'forbidden' but I'm not on follow limit or anything. Does anybody know what may be causing this?

try going into your applications and revoking access to any dodgy applicants, it could be the people you are trying to follow either have protected accounts, have blocked you or maybe you have a ban for a few days due to following to many people
