I think so. As long as you reference properly and try to use your own words I don't see a problem. I've read bbc articles that cite other newspapers.

I would suggest that you be very careful. Yes, people are "borrowing" from all sorts of places and putting it on the Net. But you are opening yourself to appallingly expensive legal tangles if you happen to borrow from someone who has a paid legal department. They can make your life miserable. (This happened to a friend of mine.) I would suggest you take this question to a lawyer. They might even answer it for free, since most of them advertise "free consultation." It's worth a try, and being safe is far, far better than being legally sorry.
