How to get noticed on YouTube?
Title says it all really. I've just started out on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/SnowMeltdown I only have a few videos at the moment. But I have plans for a lot more. However I'm only getting 30 views on my videos and don't really see the point of carrying on if I can't attract views. Does anyone have any tips on how I can get my channel noticed a bit more?

Thanks

Just do what people want to watch, I only have like 3 videos but over 1k views Tongue
If you're doing a blog thing it takes a loooooong while to be noticeable, parodies become noticeable with time, covers of songs rely on how well you sing/play the instrument.
Just be patient and keep uploading stuff.

Do YouTube because you enjoy making videos.
If your main objective is to get big, just quit now and save a lot of time and money.
Use your titles, tags and descriptions wisely, increase the quality of your videos, collaborate with other YouTubers, upload your content to community channels and have fun uploading what you enjoy, not what will earn subs

Don't make videos for the view count, make them because it's what you enjoy doing and if your videos are good people will watch.

I agree with a lot of people's answers here. But you have to promote the videos. Use your facebook. Make friends with other people on Youtube so they can recommend your videos. Subscribe to other's channel and ask them to subscribe to yours. Participate in content related forums and send a link to your video where its applicable.

While I am not big on YouTube, after thumbing through your content, I can make some suggestions!

First off, I like that you have a custom layout, and take time to make custom thumbnails. That's a big part of the image that you give off, and you should keep that up.

Here are my pointers:

1. I almost clicked away from your video when I was met with a 15 second ad on a video that had very few views. Please don't take that badly, it was just a large turn off that could be detouring some. Wait until you have a video that is already accruing some views, then put an add on it. It's less distracting, especially when you're lesser known. People need to pay attention to your content, not the ads that accompany it.

2. You are already very topical with your video about CES. Keep that up, that kind of stuff turns you up in searches and people really like topical vloggers because they get information, or opinion, or viewpoints from people like you. So keep that up, emphasis that your channel will do more of that. People want to know what to expect if they subscribe. Because right now, they may be thrown by you having a cat video, then a CES vlog, and not know what to expect when they subscribe. Most people subscribe when they know they are getting something ongoing from you.

3. Basic aesthetic tips:
-Make your camera level with you, that low angle doesn't come across as professional.
-Lighting, be in a well lit room and have some soft light on your face.
-Tighter editing. You had some parts that could of been cleaner cuts or cut off sooner.

Video quality and lighting shouldn't be an issue, it distracts your viewer from the topic of the video.

4. You have to promote yourself if you want any prolonged viewers who will stick around, promote yourself.

-Being topical is a form of promotion because you turn up in more searches.
-Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Friends, and family. All of these are great for base views.
-Be active on YouTube. Comment, video responses, and overall just getting your name on as many YouTube comment sections or channels as possible.
-Cross promote with other YouTubers. Find people who share same interests and work together.
-Find sites and forums related to what you want your channel to be about, promote there.

I wish you luck, and I know it's rough, but if you carry on you can start to gather people who want to watch you. Best of luck!
