I told a guy over txt that I didn't have a twitter, Facebook or instagram and he never texted me ever again. He was the one who asked for my phone number. He initiated all conversation beforehand. But after telling him that I never heard from him again. I sounded like too much of a loser probably right? Is my dating life ruined because of this? I have personal reasons for not having them... I was bullied throughout middle school and high school and am trying to protect myself. Why did this happen to me? It's ********. I don't understand why he cut me off like that.

I have neither of these either. I use you. But personally I feel like its a waste of life and prefer to socialize in different ways..and I date guys who find that very attractive..not having those things will not ruin your dating life!!! It was probably another reason..just don't worry about it and meet somebody else =)

No, you have your reasons for not wanting that, which is fine. He is just looking for something convenient, he's not keen on you as such, just interested in achieving gratification, which is harder to do with you if you're not on Facebook, etc. He's simply going off to find someone who is more convenient for HIM.

Now, would you please get out of the victim mindset? Your dating life is not ruined because of your decision not to have a Facebook account or whatever, but because you are letting decisions other people make for themselves, which they are perfectly entitled to make, affect you emotionally.

Me, I don't have Instagram. I don't see any need for it.

I don't see a problem in not having any of those. And the guy must have been immature enough to judge a girl based on her social preferences. On the other hand, he probably thought that you must be really anti-social, however I think he should of at least given you a chance before cutting you off.

Your whole life is almost over because of a text? Have you always been so melodramatic or just when you weigh your life against FB and other social media?
If you've 'decided' you're a loser it's certainly not because you don't have FB – it's because of your self image. If you let the guy do all initiating without responding you ARE doomed.
Please do things you do well and get better at them. You sound like you're over thinking just a tad.
You can gain confidence by doing physical things like running, working out and playing sports - if you started only six months ago you'd be pretty good by now instead of feeling your life is over.
