How would you complete a situation analysis for Caterpillar, Inc.?

I have to complete a situation analysis for Caterpillar, Inc. I'm in a marketing class so this consists of 6 areas: the cooperative environment, the competitive environment, the economic environment, the social environment, the political environment, and the legal environment. I have been able to complete most areas but have had some trouble satisfying the cooperative, political, and legal environments. Any help or input would be appreciated! Thank you!

This is a tough question, I don't even know what a "situational analysis" is! Here's what I'd do:

Use someone elses assignment.

Go to Google

Type in "situational analysis" and include the quotes

scroll down to advanced search click on that

in Advanced Search choose file type and choose pdf

Click on the search button

You now have lots of examples to use. You can fiddle with the keywords to hone into what you want, but don't forget to keep situational analysis in quotes!
