What are your likes and dislikes of socialism libertarianism?
You could say that I'm a socialist libertarian / left-libertarian / social anarchist, etc.
I would take out all the authoritarianism out of government. I would legalize drugs, free Bradley Manning, and end unmanned air drone strikes. But I would expand government to promote the general welfare. I'm for Medicare for all and repairing our broken down infrastructure. Ads |

Libertarian socialism is against the state, if you really were a libertarian socialist you wouldn't be for expanding government.
I have nothing against it, and it isn't an oxymoron no matter what right-libertarians say, in fact the first person to call themselves a libertarian was an anarcho-communist, Joseph Déjacque (which is a branch of libertarian socialism) |

paladin obviously doesnt understand what libertarian socialism implies...
It removes an overbearing government; such is necessary under a market economy in order to regulate it and prevent abuses, but if you remove capitalist institutions, you no longer need a powerful government |

I think you need to have socialism before you can have Libertarianism. Once you have a fully functioning society government will not be required. Communities will be self sufficient and everyone will have their place. No scarcity of resources/competition and mental illness will become no existent. No violence/crime, no need for police.

I think socialist libertarianism is an OXYMORON.
It is like collectivist individualist. It doesn't make any sense. |

I am a Free Market Anarchist and I personally don't care as long as I'm not forced to participate in anyone's ideal version of society.
You might like a book called "Markets Not Capitalism": http://www.amazon.com/Markets-Not-Capita...1570272425 |

I see and like the type of Socialism that will respect peoples civil liberties, facilitating the means of production to workers control. Avoid imperialist adventures and support revolutions and peoples struggles throughout the world.
I have some degree of sympathy to the anarcho syndicalists who support control of the economy by the workers. Even Conservative Libertarians respect civil liberties, oppose the Paytriot Act, censorship, indefinite detention, choice and imperialist interventions and invasions opposition to censorship many oppose capital punishment. But all of these positive aspects of the Anarchist philosophy fit very well into a Socialist system. Government is necessary to defend and protect the rights of the people, promote socialism and redistribute wealth. The other Free Market ideology, including total privatization is anathema to me, because it embodies the worst aspects of capitalism So I just prefer to call my self a left wing Socialist and leave it at that. http://www.spusa.org Hope this helps |
