What type of social work job can I get with an Associates degree in Psychology?

I am just finishing school at the University of Phoenix on line which mean I will not go on to the bachelors course but I am hoping to get a career started in doing social work with just an associates of arts in psychology? So I would like some advice if you have any?

There are very few psychology jobs on the market, and with only an Associate's degree in what a whopping 6% of all graduates get their degree in makes for harsh competition. Sorry, it might be worthwile to major in something else.

In the field of psychology, your Associates degree in Psychology is a good foundation for transferring into a Bachelors degree program. At minimum, professional social work related positions, even minimum entry state level social service related positions and other human services related state positions require at minimum a Bachelors degree.

Associates degrees in most states qualifies one to work in "aide" type positions, such as teacher's aides, teacher perhaps in day care, psychiatric aide, residential care aide and other "assistant" type positions which would be considered "para-professional".

Here are some examples of positions:
Mental health Associate:
Summary: Participates as a member of the mental health team on an inpatient Mental Health Unit. Provides direct patient care including treatment planning, implementing plans, evaluating treatment, documentation, and milieu activities such as group activities.
Qualifications: Equivalent to an Associates Degree in Psychology or Human Services and two years experience in a health related field. Successful completion of a recognized phlebotomy training program or prior documented experience performing phlebotomy is preferred.
