What do you think of the new opt in porn scheme (daily mail) if u live with parents no more porn for you!!?
so the daily mail have been campaigning for a while now for a system to block online porn in which you would have to opt in rather your parents have to opt in. so if u live with your parents and are over 18 everthing will be blocked but i wanna know how this affects other sites twitter is full of porn! tumblr is so will this "block" automatically block anything with porn because that would mean a hell of a lot of sites are getting blocked.

daily mail.....you suck

If this is like the government's ban on pirate bay, it won't do a thing. If anyone really wants to watch porn, this will just be another thing they have to bypass to watch it.

Chris D: That's not what this Daily Mail article from last night says... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-...cally.html

The government review decided that no action needed to be taken from a law-making perspective and the Government has dropped plans for default filters at a network level.

The Government will instead focus on educating parents as to what filters are available, and offering help on choosing age-appropriate settings. The report "strongly recommends" (my quotes) that ISPs should provide filters as an option but there will be no mandated requirement to do so.

I've provided a link to the full report. The conclusion and recommendation is in the first few pages so you don't need to read the entire thing.

Responding to John: Yes, thank you, I'm aware that the DM has skewed its position to pretend its "won" its campaign. I've read the Government response as published and it's pretty straightforward.

So going by what your saying then is you agree that porn should be exposed
to children between 7 and under 18 because it's freely available?

If your over 18 then it wont apply to you, will it?

When they are talking about children they are talking about minors under
the age of 18.

How about the recent cases or rape by 11, 12 and 13 year old boys
on girls of 10 years or younger. Or how about all the cases of Serious
Indecent Assault committed by kids of that age.

All because of watching freely available porn when they were questioned
why they did it?
