How do I get people to believe in the Internet for their business?

I'm a web designer and in an area where business owners don't believe that a website will help their business. How do I get these people (who don't believe mostly because they've been burned before) to start believing in the Internet for their business? Thanks

Well Scott if you have any testimonials or proof from people who have money online that's a start.Well also tell them that because they didnt neccessarily make money before doesn't mean they won't make money this time.It may be because they didn't have enough traffic to their sites and didn't market them well enough.Any website needs traffic to be successful so tell them that.Hope this helps you!!!

Costs of making a website is high. No let me correct myself that is only the half of it, maintenance can be expense I mean you want up to date material and marketing going on. To the average business worker they don't want to deal with it. It's not like you need a website to make use of the internet. Maps and Social Networks where the traffic is at and stays much longer whether it be myspace, twitter, or another powerful tool. Everything is hard work you know.

This is an investment and risk is still involved. It doesn't work for everybody.
