Why should there be no cap on what income is subject to SS taxes when there is a cap on how much SS one can be paid?
15% is a pretty steep SS tax to pay for ZERO benefit. Lets say a person makes $500k a year. $500k times 15% is $75,000 per year just in social security taxes! AND this person will get the same SS benefit as a person that makes $75 k a year! Rip off! Ads |

Of ourse it is how else can we transfer huge quantities of public money into the pockets of the rich. Think of the corporate bonuses billions in SS funds can provide. And when the market tanks again the entire "trust fund" will evaporate overnight.
