Girl troubles....? I'm 99% convinced she just wants to stay friends.... Help please?
U know the scenario;
Same grade, nice girl, epically friend-zoned.
This girl is unique -- French, Hungarian, and for some reason she lived in Japan for 10 years, so we both speak Japanese. (i'm a native speaker)
(we're both in 8th grade)

The thing is that one day after school, I worked up the nerve and told her. I liked her, with an irritating amount of details, and she told me she "understood my feelings".
Since I don't understand girls, I logged on to Twitter and asked my 700 followers what she meant by that.
The majority of the replies told me it's a sign that she wants to stay friends,
and a few said she's into me.
So, I am now convinced that she just wants to stay friends.
But, I want to be 100% sure.
Oh and if it matters, we've known each other ever since 6th grade, when she moved here from Japan (after the 10 years).

But i have a sneaking suspicion that there is a 1% chance she likes me, since every Christmas we exchange gifts, of course this happens in school, since she lives far away from me, plus it's a few days before Winter Break, so....
Any help?

P.S. If u're certain she doesn't like me above the "friend" level, don't hesitate to tell me the truth, I'm used to disappointment. (report cards disappoint me once a year. Meh).

P.S.S. I have a small concern about something else....
I used to go to a school to learn Japanese on Saturdays, since I've been living in America my whole life.
Anyways, about 4 years ago, when I was an immature 4th grader, I was really mean. ~regretfulness implied~

There was one girl that was still there, since the others returned to Japan.
I'm assuming that the girl I like told her friend there that I liked her a lot, and the other girl at that school told her the bad things I did back then. ~regretfulness implied once again~
But, I'm certain that I've matured, but I want suggestions, because u can't be too safe.

P.S.S.S. Sorry for the painfully-detailed question; I don't get out much. I need a life Tongue

You told her too much. Girls should usually be the first to tell you that they like you, not the other way around. You gave away all the mystery. You're in the friend zone to stay.
