It keeps students from feeling safe at home- before the Internet, bullies would torment students at school, and then they could go home and get a break before it all started up again the next day. With the advent of Facebook, Twitter, etc., when students go online to talk to their friends they can't escape the rude messages. There's no haven anymore. Thus the child's confidence goes waay down, their behavior could change, and they run the risk of taking drastic action against the bully.
