Will Twitter de-index my old username.?

I had to change my username on twitter because I wanted the end contact with someone. And I can't just block them because they can still see my tweets.. I don't want them too. So I changed my username but when they search for my old username the twitter search still brings them up my account with the new username there. Thus, defeating the purpose of changing my user. So can twitter de index my old username for me so when I change it again this person can't find my profile?
