Can I send text updates to Twitter without using the 5-digit number?
My cell phone carrier does not support 5-digit numbers, so when I use 40404, I get a text back telling me it couldn't send it. I was just curious if there was any way I could still update from my phone (using text messages) without using that number. Thanks!

I never heard of a carrier not supporting the 5 digit numbers companies use for text. I mean, Twitter isn't the only one that has a 5 digit number. Are you in US? Perhaps it's an issue with country code (and I am in US and familiar with US service) It could be that your number has not been set up properly with Twitter. I would talk to both Twitter support and your carrier.
