Social networking sites to expand my social circle?

[help me!!!]

Hi, im a 24 year old girl. i dont have an FB account or orkut or google+. i rarely use a twitter account of mine just to keep in touch with the trends around the world..
it doesnt mean im not tech savvy, its just that i dont like to be associated on a site just because its branded to be cool and besides i dont want social networking to be a place where im just addicted to 'like' and 'friend'/'unfriend', tag etc;

i enjoy writing and take an interest in photography. but writing is my real passion . i want to join a good social networking site where i can connect to people who share my interests and also where i can learn.
can you please suggest me

Maybe you should try using the sites that you already know about & branch out first, then the more you branch out, the more people you're likely to find with common interests, and then you'll also be able to discover other social networking sites more befitting of you and you can discontinue use of the sites you know about but don't really want to use. In my opinion, you've got to find a way to branch out FIRST, before you're able to find people with common interests. Also, be willing to focus somewhat on what other peoples' interests might be, & you'll find people more willing to connect with you who share yours.
