What can we do for getting local traffic?

I mean to say, i have a business in Chicago and now i am working on global traffic, but i want to get more traffic from Chicago on my site. so have you any ideas for that.

Give an address on the site, mention a city or 2, big lists of "cities served" my now be judged to be spam.

If you have a business address get a Google Places page (Yahoo and Bing have the same) free yellow, super pages, yelp etc listing help as well.

6 Get included in local search engine

7 Get listed in local directories

You can do a page on the Facebook that have links to your website. So you can get people from Chicago or that is on the city and make a Fan Paage too that is linked to your website !

For me is a very nice alternative way to make your advertising Local too.
