Dell Inspiron battery problem?
My old battery seem to die. It would not take a charge and was several years old, so I decided to replace it. The computer has always worked fine on the AC adapter.
The new battery came fully charged. When I started the computer, I immediately got a message that the battery level was critical and it should be charged. Both the BIOS and the power utility in Control Panel showed the battery as 0% and as charging with the AC cord connected. I flashed the BIOS with no luck. But now, the computer will not boot with the batter installed. If I insert the battery while the computer is running on AC, the mouse freezes. I'm going to guess a bad charging circuit? Randy Ads |

Hello Randy,
I am from Dell Social Media and Community. A faulty battery may cause a system to freeze, I would recommend you to have the battery replaced. (If you have bought it from Dell, you will have to 21 day return time or you can get it replaced in 90 days if it is faulty) If the issue persists, follow the link below to run a basic hardware test on your system. http://support.dell.com/support/topics/g...cid=266787 If you get any error code, you can associate it to the list given in the link below. http://support.dell.com/support/topics/g...&s=gen&cs= If this has not helped you or if you need any further assistance, feel free to message me on Twitter. I will be happy to assist. Dell-Niranjan Twitter: @NiranjanatDell Ads |
