my laptop wont let me onto facebook!!! can anyone help?

if i try to log onto facebook or even just google it, my laptop freezes and then beeps and i cant do anything except switch off at the main button then re-start.
whats going on?

any suggestions on why this may be happening? or is it time for a new laptop?
