Hi Monica,

My name is Gautam and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell.

In this case we should first check the battery functionality to ensure that the battery is not faulty through the battery health meter (BHM). We need to install the quickset application for the BHM. You should also check if your system has the latest bios version which can be checked by in the bios screen (pressing F2 at Dell logo). The latest Bios version and quickset application can be downloaded from our support website.
Please visit our website http://www.dell.co.in/support and find the bios and quickset application for your PC by entering your service tag. Once you have download and installed the Quickset application, please press F3 or (Fn+F3) on your keyboard to launch the Battery Meter. Click on the Battery Health option check for the current status of your battery. Please check the battery icon functionality once again after the BIOS is updated. If in case this does not resolve your issue, it is likely the issue may be related to the OS.

If you have any other questions, please reply on this post.

Thanks & Regards

Gautam_H
