Do public transit buses cancel during winter when weather is terrible?
For example, when there is a lot of snow. How bad would the weather have to be for buses to cancel? I take the bus to university and it's going to be snowing heavily but I can't find info on whether their buses will cancel or not.

it depends on that transit agencies policy
some will have 'snow' routes and will operate
plus you might what to check if the transit agency has/uses twitter
as thats where they could use to notify users about detours
so check to see if your transit agency uses twitter if does they should use to alert
riders

It depends on weather.

If storm like Hurricane, Blizzard happens, every transit agencies will shut down before storm hit.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority made mistake on Christmas Week during Dec 2011 and they shut down the service late and with some buses getting stuck in snow, people trapped on NYC Subway over Jamaica Bay for over two-hours.

After that mistake, MTA shut down when threatening storm was approaching in Feb 2012 I think and recent Hurricane Irene and Hurricane Sandy, service suspended on bus/subway before the storm.

Yes, they do. If the weather is that bad would the university have classes?
