How to improve my blog's appearance?

I started a blog in late november/december time, and I really love it, I enjoy posting, I like editing the design, but i just don't know how to make it look more sophisticated and professional, Have a look: http://lushfreak.blogspot.co.uk/ and tell me what you think, I am in the process of removing the '.blogspot' from the url. I also just made a facebook and twitter account and I'm in need of some more followers!

Hi, might be me but the font looks less than appealing. Try a few others or check out some blogs and see what ones you like.

You could consider moving it to a more customizable platform, like WordPress (self-hosted version) that would give you full control over the layout, colors, fonts, menus, etc. You're limited when you use the public sites like blogspot, tumblr, etc...

I agree on the font. It's a little hard to read. Also, try to include the images next to or within your blog copy... rather than just below the post. Unless you're restricted to only doing that.
