To those in healthy long term relationships:?
I've been only in a few relationships, and none of them really panned out. I definitely realize I did maaAany things wrong, and I've absolutely learned from my mistakes.
I met someone recently, and I really want to do things right this time. I realize now that that's easier said than done tho. Please give me advice on tips u may have for early stages of a relationship? Also, when and how should I bring up to him that I've been celibate for a couple of years and don't plan on breaking that anytime soon?

My best advice is have your own life. Don't be needy. Don't change your plans the second a guy calls. If you already had plans to go to dinner with friends let him know I will catch you another time. Don't answer text in the middle of the night unless you are awake and actually want to talk. I don't mean to be too critical but I notice girls more and more seem to feel the need to drop everything for a guy the second he calls, texts, sends a facebook message or email. Don't be his personal assistant for crying out loud. Last but not least if you do go out and do something together put the phone aside. I can't believe how many people send text messages and update Facebook or Twitter while eating out or going to the movies.

As for the celibacy thing I would bring it up when the time is right. I also would probably leave out the line "I don't plan on breaking that anytime soon" Something more like "When the right person comes along maybe things will change" or "I have spent the last few years trying to figure some things out in my life. I wasn't ready to have a relationship get in the way while I was working on those things. I am really starting a new chapter right now and am ready to move on." Give the guy at least a verbal chance.

When you are in relationship with someone, you should not think of breaking up or else. Try think of good things about future. Have a happy planning and smooth relation.Only thinking about breakup also ruin your time with him.
