What topics to cover for an 8-10 page paper on Occupy Wallstreet.?
A paper that researches a recent controversy over the representation of a group in any mass media.

So far I will be writing on:

An introduction to OWS
How it began, first outbreak
What the people are fighting for
Violence (also violence coverage)
How typical media has shunned OWS
How social media has shaped OWS and media/news

My basis of discussion will cover such topics, but I need more to material so things do not run stale halfway through the paper.

First...who's the Sociliast professor who assigned this topic? You realize that anything less than a glowing report on the OWS movement will probably earn you an "F".

The reason the media has shunned the OWS movement is because many running the networks these days were the kids burning down Chicago in '68. And they know that hitching their wagon behind this horse is only going to get them a load of crap dumped in their laps.

Here's a little secret. Most of the OWS protestors don't have a freaking clue as to what they are protesting. They are the same idiots who bought into the vapid slogan "Hope and Change" and are now buying into new chants without any knowledge of what they mean or what they would do to the economy and our lives if they got their way. In your report you should theorize what would happen to the economy if they brought down Wall Street and the big banks.

Take a look at Reader Supported News (It's a daily publication -- you can google it to find it.) Michael Moore has a very interesting essay in there today. A gathering of Occupy activists has come up with a program which they feel all Occupy people can support. It will be helpful to your paper. Goodluck -- many feel the Occupy movement is the Vietnam-Civil Rights issue of our era. Doing your paper will give you a good handle on this extremely interesting issue of our time.
