If you send a celeb a message on twitter do they actually respond?

No. They receive like thousands of messages a day, they can't respond to all of them.

No there is no chance. It is a fact that on average, a celebrity on Twitter recieves 14500 messages every day. Asuming it takes one minute to read and reply to a message, it would take 241 hours, which is equivalent to 10 days solid (not stopping for one minute) to reply to a day's messages. It's impossible, litterally impossible, for a celeb to reply to every message every day if it takes 10 days to reply to 1 day's messages.

sometimes they do. Olly murs usually does I've had a few friends that have spoken to celebs. One said, 'Are you real' and he replyied, 'i hope so!' it's true, but unlikely. I've only really come acroos someone who's had a relpy twice. So it is possible x

a few do, it all depends if they see your message or not.
if you go on a celebs twitter it will most likely show that they have tweeted fans.
the only way for them to really notice your message is if you spam them, but i wouldn't recommend that as they can easily block you

It really does depend. Everyone on here is saying no, but it is possible. If you try hard enough, I'm sure you will receive a reply one day. I've received three replies from Louis Tomlinson of One Direction, one reply from Zack Merrick of All Time Low and several replies from the members of Allstar Weekend. It's just based on luck really. Obviously, they can't reply to every tweet they get; that would be impossible. Some just decide against replying at all, but a lot of them do reply to fans, so I'd give it a go if I were you.
