If I'm dope how do I get out there.?
So I've been rapping in a Duo, we recently created a youtube page with future plans to upload our music so it can gain attention. (Only issue is we have no producers). My only fear is that we may upload our music and it never gains interest or attention of anybody. Like Joey Bada$$ for example how did he get publicity to the 1999 mixtape? Did he just release it and people learned it was good by word of mouth? And I know you guys hear this question day in and day out but I'm not just another wanna-be garbage emcee.

If you currently have no producers, go over to http://www.soundcloud.com where there are legit instrumentals made by legit producers on the internet. You can get a legit instrumental by leasing it for about $20, but prices vary by producer.

If you don't like the idea of going online to find a producer, ask your friends who are into Hip-Hop music if they know any local producers and if they could hook you up, or you can go to Hip-Hop events in your area with local DJ's and ask (And if you get reject, at least you asked).

In order to promote your music, you could start by building buzz in your local area by doing shows. It could be open mic shows, be an opening, go onto a local talent show/contest, etc. Unfortunately, your friends on social media sites are pretty useless on promoting you unless your friends have connections, otherwise, you could post up music, but don't expect to blow up just because you spammed your friends to put your music out there. You have to do it too.

Remember that you may never be as successful as you imagines, not everything is certain and you may never get the perfect buzz like Joey Bada$$. Keep improving and keep putting yourself out there.

Enjoy your journey of doing what you love.
