my Mac Book Pro will not detect my toshiba tv. how can i fix it?

when i plug my HDMI cable into my mac and to the TV, the screen on my computer will flash blue but it will say no devices detected. my HDMI has always worked but it randomly stoped working but there is nothing wrong with the cord its my computer.
