Adblocker plus has kind of stopped working??!?
Well it usually stops all adds from popping up, always. I downloaded Slender (the game) and got all this **** with it that put ads everywhere, so, like a normal (Very easily irritated person) I downloaded ad blocker plus. To my surprise it stopped ALL adds even YouTube ones so I quickly decided it was amazing and I loved it. For a few months now I've had no problems with adds but a few days ago it started doing this annoying thing on my Facebook where it would 'adds not by this site' and then a little 'i' with a blue circle around it. It wouuld be fine if there was only one but every 5 seconds the page reloads and BAM there's a new one and they just line up down my page, same thing happens when I look at pictures and I can't read the comments without constantly scrolling down!! Also it does this thing, like when I'm doing research for school, there will be a word highlighted (like it's a link to another page with more info on what that word means, like on wikipedia) but it's not and if you just scroll over it BAM add advertising 'hot singles in my area' ... I do not need to know about that ...

All this stuff happened before I got adblocker plus but on my facebook it would advertise 'one night stands' , etc instead of the little 'adds not by this site' thingy.

Any ideas on how to repair my addblocker plus? I've tried updating it and there're no updates for google chrome available.
Sorry it's so long, thanks in advance x

i am not saying this will work,
just try it and see.
if it fails to solve the problem
then check your facebook apps and remove any that look suspicious
and clean out chrome's cookies and other crap after every use..

First,
Download then run TFC > http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/tfc/

Next.
Download AdwCleaner from the below link.
http://general-changelog-team.fr/fr/down...adwcleaner (This is a direct download link)
or download from the home page as given below.
Double click on the downloaded file (AdwCleaner.exe)
click on Run. (if required by the security warning)
Now click on Delete,
a notification will pop up, click on OK
when deletion has finished a message will pop up,
after reading it click on OK,
you will then get a notification AdwCleaner must restart the computer,
click on ok.
when the computer restarts a text file will open up, close it.
Double click on the downloaded file (AdwCleaner.exe)
click on uninstall then click on yes to remove the utility from your computer.

then run a scan with
Norman Malware Cleaner > http://normanasa.vo.llnwd.net/o29/public...leaner.exe
to mop up any thing left. (remove whatever it finds.)

NOTE: AdwCleaner is a reliable removal tool for adware, toolbars,
potentially unwanted programs and Browser Hijackers.
It works with a Search and Deletion method.
No installing required,
It can be easily be removed
by clicking on the ineptly named uninstall button.

IMPORTANT NOTE :
The SmartScreen filter in Internet Explorer can block the download of AdwCleaner,
This is obviously a false alarm...
If you encounter this problem,
check out this article http://general-changelog-team.fr/en/home...adwcleaner
to see how to successfully download AdwCleaner.

AdwCleaner Home Page > http://general-changelog-team.fr/en/tools/15-adwcleaner

Norman malware cleaner Home Page > http://www.norman.com/downloads/malware_cleaner/

were you aware that.
Google chrome is
one big piece of google spyware.

5 seconds after launch it calls home,
then it starts reporting back to google analytic's
information about every website you visit
and what you did while you were there.

a unique number is created when you first use google chrome
that is used to identify you personally over the internet.

all of this info about you is made available to anybody that requires it.
advertisers mostly use this info to target you personally
with ads based on the type of sites you visit.

Stop using google chrome.

Give these mod's a try:

CHROME> wrench icon> Preferences> Under the hood> Content settings>
Cookies heading: tick "Allow local data..." & "Ignore exceptions and block 3rd party...";
Java Script heading> "Do not allow..." (adjust for permissions "per site" under the "Manage Exceptions" when a site won't work enough);
Plug-in's heading> tick "Click to play";
Location heading> tick "Do not allow...";
Notifications> tick "Ask me when...";
Mouse cursor> tick "Do not allow site to disable...";
Close tab.

"AdBlock Plus" (might need 'subscription' added after install).
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search?q=ad+block
"KB SSL Enforcer" add-on: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detai...ofphddckof
►►"ScriptNo" stops all kinds of nasties and should be used by everyone. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/ScriptNo

ADDED: ABP hasn't stopped working, it's still doing what it always has.
What's changed is the delivery vectors of these quasi-malicious ads.
This is why users must harden all their defenses at all times, and stay alert for these new crap tactics.
The same goes for malware...they also never rest nor do they remain static...and users must remain fluid in their tactics to make counter-measures.
