Any Windows 8 users out there, opinions on it?
So at my school, we got something like $20,000 of free software. Of this, we can download any and all relevant Windows Operating systems of our choosing.

So I tried 8 because it was free.

I've had it for 5 minutes.

Do you like it? I feel as though the Live Tile aspect are for people who are into social networking. Me personally, I'm anti-social media and a big gamer.

What are the pro and cons of it that you see?

The good news for me, is if I don't like it, I can just install 7, Vista, XP, whatever I want.

I enjoyed 7, but it was counterfeit. So instead of doing another 7, I figured why the heck not give 8 a try.

Stick with Windows 7 for gaming. Much more stable. Windows 8 causes games to crash randomly in the middle of the action. It doesn't matter what game I try.

In any case, you can create a multi boot system to handle your needs. I have Win XP, Win 7 and Win 8 on their own partition.

I tried windows 8, and for reasons that I can't exactly recall, I did not like it. I was running windows 7 and internet explorer 8. Website videos kept on buffering all the time, so I changed browsers, but before changing browsers, I made certain that I properly downloaded the one I wanted to use. I downloaded Firefox Beta It works great. I uninstalled internet explorer and the hesitating on videos stopped, the buffering stopped also. I found a free edition of a very unique product that seeks, and destroys all trojans, malware, viruses that attempt to load to my hard drive even hidden. The product is called SuperAntiSpyware. I found this product by accident. I had been having trouble with my google gmail account. Not receiving any emails for weeks and weeks. I called the google staff. The woman on the phone tried to help me fix the problem. At the end, she said she could not correct it, that it would need a technical person to be on the phone with me. In trying to help me, the google lady need my authorization for her to look at my computer screen at her end. I click the information on my computer for her to see my screen, and as she tried to fix the email problem, I noticed in my address bar the words SuperAntiSpyware. I mentioned that to her and she did not comment. She said I could have a technical contract to repair my computer for three years for a total of $329.00 I said no. I guess she thought that I was going to spend $300 dollars in order to have gmail operational again. I said to myself think again. She then said that I could have just a one year service contract. I said no. She thanked me, and said bye bye. After hanging up the phone I check on the Superantispy webpage. It is safe, and fantastic. When you click a quick scan, it is quick and it shows you what it finds. You click the word remove, and the system takes it out and saves it in a quarantine section. I hope that I have been a help to you. No need to have McAfee, or Norton or something like that for computer security. Just download the free edition. Cordially, Alan email: fiftyeight@inbox.com

Windows 8 is actually technically better and more advanced than win7. It got its problems as well. But there are going to be service packs which will make it even better. But no OS is perfect. I really like the GUI. It's simple yet elegant. The live tiles can sometime be annoying or unhelpful, for example when you're with a friend and you don't want him to see your private pictures..
But overall, i like win8 a lot Smile
