promoting ebook on amazon?
I spent a year writing my book. I put it on amazon for free and got a couple of downloads but I realize it needs more exposure.

Here is a link to it: http://tinyurl.com/aafphcz

How else can I promote it?

Thank you

The posted link takes you to the book but without the preview, so you are better using the direct Amazon link.

The opening part is well written, (the opening line is quite good) and it gets to the action quickly (however I would argue open with meeting Veronica, forget mentioning the previous girl by name (you might do so later in the book) this will have the effect of tightening up the beginning.

That said you are wanting to get on and sell your book, firstly what is the theme of the book, the reason I ask this is, if someone puts a posting on Y/Answers that relates to your theme, get in there, place your answer and at the same time plug your book, like I am about to do with a book totally unrelated to your theme lol.

I have a number of History sites I go on and promote it, and although it is very very niche I have been in the top 10k of Amazon sales, in fact seeing as the book is priced at the level it is, I am amazed especially when I have 8 to 10 sales in a weekend?

Only promote it free for a limited period, if people think it is good they will pay (mine was $9.95 to start with and still sold), that said with you being a new author and it is fiction pitch at $1.99 to start with, that extra $1 will mean you can tell if you are doing things right, people will pay it if they think it is good..

The first million seller on Kindle (I forget his name) actually put the price of his book up from 99c to $2.99 and saw sales rocket, as people stopped downloading just on price and read the whole book and recomended it on to others.

so this is some sites to promote, but don't go on and only try promoting your book, first give feedback to others and get chating about fiction in general and books similar to yours then when you have a few postings start, pushing it.

I have found Goodreads the best so far.

Also have you a twitter account, if something is in the News about a miscarraige of justice start tweeting and then plug your book.

And Smashwords is worth looking at to publish in other formats as it is free.

Also have you tried You tube and doing a promo?
