What does it mean on facebook when it says...?
..."so-and-so said you attended so-and-so school together".... and then it asks you to approve of this phrase.

If i approve, will it appear in my info box? Because i want to update my university info myself and i don't want it to say i attend there with anyone else.

Facebook is by far the world's largest social network, offering advertisers potentially millions of ad views. The site's ad service allows you to submit simple text and image ads. When a Facebook member clicks on your ad, she's taken to your chosen URL. However, before your ad goes live, it must get approved by Facebook. Until that time, it's listed as pending. Most ads go through less than a day after submission.

Review Process
Facebook reviews every ad created through its ad service. After you submit your advertisement, you may see the phrase "Pending review" in your account. According to Facebook, your ad will either be approved or declined within 12 hours, though in some cases it may take longer. If your ad is listed as pending, you'll get an email when the decision is made. Check your email account the day following your submission and you'll probably have an answer. If you're rejected, Facebook will explain the reason.

Reasons
Facebook makes no guarantee of how fast your ad will get reviewed. During busy periods, your ad may stay pending for longer than 12 hours. Also, if you submit your ad on a Friday evening, don't expect to see approval over the weekend. Most pending ads are reviewed during standard business hours. This is because ads are reviewed manually, not by a computer algorithm. Though a filter will prevent you adding prohibited words, such as curse words or racial terms, in general the approval process is manual.

Guidelines
Facebook publishes a set of advertising guidelines. Some of the guidelines relate to the way the ad and URL loads. For example, pop-up windows are not allowed upon arrival or when leaving an ad page. Other guidelines relate to ad content. For example, misleading, obscene or adult content is entirely banned. Similarly, any ads with political, racial or religious agendas are prohibited. Breaking any of the guidelines could cause your ad to be rejected, or at least pending for longer as Facebook investigates the issue.

Considerations
Designing your ad requires a destination URL, an ad title and body text with a maximum of 135 characters. Review the guidelines in full before submitting your ad. Once all of the content is in place, click continue. You'll have to register for an account to submit the ad. You also need to choose an advertising budget and cost-per-click. This can influence how frequently your ad gets seen, particular for competitive markets.
