You can go directly to these sites and find the advertising section. Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/advertising/
Myspace - https://advertise.myspace.com

but I found the better and quicker way to do this is to use an advertising network like http://www.adparlor.com that will put you on all of these sites at once! You can still target by age, gender, and location AND you get to hit all the major social networking sites with one go! If I understand correctly, i believe they show ads on custom applications which it more likely to be seen by users than hiding your ad in the right-hand column...
