Which audio driver should I install?
I have a Dell Mini 9 and I've installed the OS from scratch. The audio driver seems to be realtek ALC 268 HD Audio?

Is this an additional driver for audio or the main one? I only want the basic audio driver that uses least space?

Go to dells support page and download the drivers for your audio card.

Make sure you select the driver via the correct operating system.

The difference between the most and least space is negligible with today's storage drives.

You'll find the custom (smallest) drivers at Dell's support page. Be sure to download the RealTek drivers that are specific to your computer's make and model. Downloading the drivers from the RealTek website will take up 3-4x as much space (around 30mb) because the RealTek website drivers are designed for multiple pieces of hardware comparability.

Hello Denise,
My name is Krishna and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. The only sound card which shipped with the Inspiron Mini 9 was Realtek ALC268 HD Audio and it does not require any additional drivers.

You can download and install the Realtek Audio Driver from http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/e...2731105146

Hope this helps.

Regards,
