I have a G5 Power Mac with PowerPC Processor. How can I get Photoshop?
I've obtained a used power mac g5 computer with a PowerPc processor instead of the newer intel processor. I desperately need some version of the adobe creative suite to work on, does anyone know which version and how i can get it.

Did your G5 come with Apple's OS 9 or 8 or 7 pre-installed? Or, did it come with Apple's OS X Tiger (10.4), or Panther (10.3) or older, pre-installed?

Once determined, put an 'Wanted to Buy' AD on Kijiji.ca, CraigsList, or eBay for a used Photoshop for Mac G5, AND your specific Apple OS, and it likely won't be a Creative Suite version (Intel only), period.

The odds of finding a compatible Photoshop is very slim. You may have to find a different App like the GIMP (free), or, an online Service like PicNik (free), soon to be part of the Google+ Social Network.

ELfageek is mostly right. However, CS2 runs fine on a G5, so you can look for that. I used to have a G5 iMac (20 inch) and had CS2 installed on it and ran Photoshop just fine.

Photoshop up to CS4 (version 11.0.2) can work on G5 Macs with OS X 10.4 and 10.5. Newer versions are for Intel Macs only. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Photo...se_history

Ebay, the Amazon Market Place, and other such outlets are the places to look for older versions since Adobe doesn't sell these. You should however ask people about their experience with that version on your specific PowerMac G5, processor speed and RAM-wise, so you don't buy it just to see that it runs awfully slow on the hardware, although it's rather Illustrator than Photoshop that tends to run lame on older hardware.) Also, there is the risk of dubious sellers trying to give you less than legal stuff – which you should never pay money for.
