Kenyon College followed me on Twitter after I applied, is that bad?
I'm a senior and just applied to Kenyon College EDII. I have visited the campus, had an interview, talked to the admissions officer through email a few times with questions. I was concerned because I had a weaker Junior Year because of a job to help my family's financial issues. I have a much stronger Senior Year, have moved up to Salutatorian of my class, took all APs and Honors, after school, and before school classes to make up for it. These are my stats. Overall I have a 92% unweighted average and a 96.7% weighted average and a 2030 on my SATs (660CR 700M 670W). I honestly got two Cs Junior Year in Physics and AP Chem (not my strong suit) and a low B in Calc, but I have a high B in Physics II right now and a high B in AP Bio and a mid B in Calc II, so I was hoping they'd see me as a student with potential, especially because of all the ECs and leadership spots I hold in my school. Let me know what you think! Thanks!

Comments and Concerns:

I know my Junior year was a hot mess, but I was working 3-10 almost everyday after school to help my family's economic situation. I've noted this in emails and interviews to the schools I applied to and I wrote an "additional supplement" for it. I was hoping my Senior grades could help/save me.

I've received glowing letters of recommendation about what a genuine, caring person I am, and about my resiliency and drive. I also wrote pretty good essays. What do you think?

It seems like they are taking a genuine interest in you and are hoping to get a better picture of the type of person you are, academically and personally. Just be really careful, thinking twice before you post anything on your Twitter Account. Do not write anything about work out school that is out of anger, and don't be on there so often that you look like you have no life outside of Social Media. You want to appear well-rounded.
