I read a news forum daily/social media site where most of the members are of political far left variety.

While the members of this site were cheerleading the fact that Obama changed his mind and decided to support gay marriage after claiming that marriage was only for men and women, they were not very happy at the images were released when Newsweek decided to out Obama as the "First Gay President."

Did Newsweek decide to out Presdient Obama to hurt him or to help him politically?

Obama, even if he were gay wouldn't be the first gay president. Most people agree we've already had one in Buchanan.

The writer didn't mean that Obama was actually a practicing homosexual, it was used in the same sense as saying Clinton was the first black president, someone in harmony with the group.
