She acts one way, then acts like I'm paranoid?
I've been friends with this girl for about 7 months, we met due to an eating disorder, we're both in recovery and go to the same school.. When we first met, she was encouraging me to recover. I took her for granted and didn't recover, and she kicked me out of her life and bashed on me for two months before apologizing and we became really close, and I started recovering. When school started, she became distant, like she's doing now. I don't know what it was, and finally things got so tense between us that we started saying things indirectly to each other, finally she messaged me this really long message apologizing, acting like she didn't do anything, but apologized and we got close again. That lasted for about two months.. Now she's acting weird again. It happened after I told her that I started working out to tone up after the weight gain.. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. She's competitive and an exercise addict.. But she would act just fine when I would talk to her. She started acting like I don't exist again, and she started sub-tweeting me on Twitter again. And I found out that she was stalking my Tumblr page.. In some ways, though she acts like she has feelings for me. There have been several times where she acted like she has feelings for me, but when I'd ask her about it, she would act shady like she's doing now. She acted like I was crazy again today.. She randomly texted me, replying to a text I sent in December, saying she 'just now saw it.' She acted completely normal, and when I confronted her, she acted confused.

What do I do? This is driving me insane!

Stay away from the crazy women. She isn't emotionally stable and you can see how her behavior is dragging you down. Don't wase time with someone who drags you down. Focus on people who make a POSITIVE contribution to your life. Sure she may have had some role in your recovery but that was more of a public service. It wasn't necessarily personal. Let her go. If she happens to have feelings for you then she will either keep it bottled up or express these feelings in a healthy way. If she goes the healthy route then I'd give her a chance but stay on your guard.

It sounds like she has a mental illness like bipolar. It could also be that she has emotional issues or she's lying to you and pretending to be your friend. She's hiding something from you. It's not a good idea to be around people like this when you have problems like an eating disorder. She's manipulating you.

You've only known her for seven months, and you both have eating disorders. There is a good possibility that she has other problems such as anxiety, depression, bipolar, etc. tendencies that cause or are symptoms of the disorder -- different people show different disorders in response to different situations.

If you find it difficult to communicate (or not communicate) with her, tell her so. She seems to be playing you like a yoyo, which might mean that her weight fluxuates with her moods? Or that she is hoping to throw off your recovery by screwing with your moods.

The first thing taught in recovery is to take care of yourself.
