i'm starting a fashion blog and i'm wondering what's the best blog site for it?

i've used xanga before, but the ads get annoying and it's not as customizable as i'd like it to be. i don't have major html knowledge, but i know enough. i'm looking for something that'd reach alot of viewers too. any suggestions? thanks!

Xanga is more of a social-networking service that features a blog. Also, what is "best" depends on how you are going to use the blog and other preferences.

You can usually blog free through a developer-hosted service. Most of the blogging functions are automated and provided by the blogging service. Rules regarding content may be more restrictive. Less web page coding skills (i.e. HTML or other computer language knowledge) are required. Also, visitors may need to be a member of the service and/or a connected "friend" in order to comment on content. Social-networking sites (like MySpace, Facebook, Multiply) have features that extend beyond just blogging and are geared toward connecting with other profiles.

I can tell you what services are popular. Wordpress is at the top of the list for people who run a web site and want to incorporate blogging or who want to do "multi-user blogging". Blogger is at the top of the list for people who would rather have a service control the primary web site functions and provide automated tools/features (i.e. developer-hosted blogging). Wordpress can also be used as a developer host. Blogger is well known for its ease of use.
