Should I follow people who I barely or hardly know?

I am new to twitter, so I don't have a lot of followers. Should I follow people who I barely or hardly know, and is it embarrassing that I don't have a lot of followers?

You should follow people you are interested in (and their tweets), starting maybe with the famous people (Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, etc, etc.). Or maybe even people who have the same interests as you. As for not having many followers... That's a phase every Twitterer needs to go through. It is not embarrassing. It'd only be embarrassing if you just tweeted bullsh*t, lol.
