how do you get a message to show up on someones wall on twitter?

I clicked the @ mention thing and wrote taylor swift a message and it didnt show up on her wall thing. i just got twitter today. could anyone be sweet and explain this to me! ive googled it and im still stumped/

put # before the name thing.

Her wall thing is called Timeline. On that you can only see her Tweets and her Re-tweets (When someone shares a tweet with all their followers)
When you sent that mention, you'll see it on your timeline. There's a section called @Mentions. Thats where Hopefully Taylor Swift will see it. If you want to see her mentions, you can search at the top @TaylorSwift and then you'll see all her mentions by latest. Remember she's very busy has a ton of followers so she may or may not see it.
