i think that social networking sites are affecting teens in today's society because they are spending less time with family, getting less physical activity, and it also encourages cyberbullying.

if kids and teens are always on these sites they dont pay attention to the people around them. they are constantly absorbed in the computer screen. they miss out on half of their childhood because they'd rather be on myspace talking to a 1000 of their "friends" then spending quality time with family and friends in person.

It takes away from their physical activity because they are in the seclusion of their bedroom, staring at the computer rather than going outside and playing catch.

It encourages kids and teens to cyberbully other people because they feel they can say things that they normally wouldn't say to someone's face. This could lead to suicide.

It helps people to be connected with many people they have never met. But in my country the teens spend most of their time on face book and not only that but money and starve till evening.
