Great question. First of all, everyone would have seen it LIVE instead of on tape delay. Second of all, the rag-tag group of underdogs would become exponentially more famous than they already are. Instead of years and years later, it would be months before book deals and movie deals. They'd be on a whirlwind tour of Good Morning America and Anderson Cooper and every news show under the sun. The internet might explode. Twitter and Facebook would be dominated by the USA's glorious win over the Soviet Union. #MiracleOnIce would be trending for a few months!!

Apparently nothing. Because the last Olympics the USA was in the Gold Medal final going into overtime against the Canadians and still little social media. You had America's most famous NHL players instead of no-names. Did you even get to watch the game in the US? The USA tends to celebrate after the fact. Ever notice you tend to get USA gold winning matches on tape delay? If the Americans lose, the tape ends up on the editing room floor.

Maybe it's my youtube, but I just typed "2010" into their search and 2010 Olympic Gold medal game just automatically came up with the following results.
