How do you guys get more blog traffic?

My wife and I try to blog about health type stuff (anti age cream, acne washes, exercise, etc) and we've gotten free stuff and hookups from blogging, but never any money or ads or anything. We'd like to get more traffic. Ideas? The site is gethealthygetyounger dot blogspot dot com.

Unfortunately just the title sounds like a sales pitch that might put off some people. Having an affiliate link in every article would be a bit heavy handed, there are just too many blogs with short generic articles pitching something, try writing quality original articles at least 450 - 500 words long, though to combat the Panda filter (designed to root out low quality sites) some try to average close to 800 words. Adding more images might attract the reader eye and lower the bounce rate of people immediately leaving the site.

Actively getting links from other sites in order to raise your search ranking is important, most of this activity is taboo so one has to tread lightly. Good content is a must for a blog to get traffic and rank well on the search engines, one way to do that is to curate your content. It is becoming very popular and it basically involves, using other content you find on the net and using that but you must give a link and credit back to the original source. Lots of big companies do it and if you do it properly, you will get some good Google love.
